   Overview

Bridger Wilderness Outfitters has led expeditions into the Bridger Wilderness Area and the Wind River Range for more than 15 years. Bridger Wilderness Outfitters bases its operation from the Historic DC Bar Guest Ranch located 30 miles north of Pinedale, Wyoming, in the upper Green River Valley and adjacent to the 3-1/2 million acre Bridger Teton National Forest.

Location, Location, Location
The Historic DC Bar Guest Ranch is located just where you’d want it to be. Cabins are scattered in the timber at the end of the road, between two of Wyoming’s most beautiful and wild mountain ranges, the Wind River and Gros Ventres.

Remoteness and Atmosphere
To get into the Historic DC Bar Guest Ranch in the winter requires over snow travel for five miles. On first visits, you’ll be met at the parking lot and lead up the well marked trail. The ranch is located up in an alpine meadow with views back across the Green River to the peaks of the Wind River Range and the Bridger Wilderness Area. You will find several cabins which were built at the turn of the century. Though the ranch has generated electric power, the cabins are still lit by either oil lamp or gas lights to keep in tune with the special atmosphere of the ranch. All cabins are equipped with wood-burning stoves. With just one trip to the DC Bar Guest Ranch, you’ll understand why so many people keep coming back.

Solitude
If you want to get away from other riders, no problem. The ranch is in the middle of the least populated county of the country’s least populated state. You will never got overrun with crowds as experienced in the Yellowstone resorts.

Miles of Groomed Trails
There are hundreds of miles of groomed and maintained trails. You can visit an elk feed ground, travel over the famous union pass (used by trappers and fur traders), or travel the Continental Divide trail system. You can ride from the DC Bar Ranch through Yellowstone and into either Idaho or Montana (it’s a long ride, but possible). There are several loops to explore where you’ll see spectacular scenery.

Untracked Powder
If you are looking for off trail riding, this is it. The ranch sits right in the middle of the snow belt - in fact, right from the ranch you will find some of the best trail riding in the country. Miles upon miles of open alpine country with every type of terrain possible.
